Investor appetite and realistic pricing combined to provide a strong result for Allsop Residential’s last auction in 2017, which took place on Thursday 14 December. 150 lots were sold at a success rate of 81%, raising £43.7 million with an average lot size of £291,000. That result brings Allsop Residential’s final total for the year to £423 million.

Properties in London and the South East proved particularly popular, with five of the highest value lots being located in the area.

The biggest selling lot on the day was a freehold six storey building in Battersea, London SW11. Comprising a ground floor shop and four self-contained flats, it sold for £1.615 million against a guide price of £1.35 million.

Other notable sales included a vacant detached building occupying a 0.578-acre site in Bromley, Kent, which sold for £1.4 million against a guide price of £900,000; £1.33 million for a six bedroom house in Fulham, London SW6, with potential for further extension; and two freehold bungalows in Ware, Hertfordshire, which sold for a combined total of £1.2 million.

Entries are now being taken for Allsop Residential’s first auction for 2018 and should be submitted by 19 January. The auction itself will take place at the InterContinental Hotel, One Hamilton Place, Park Lane, Mayfair, London W1J 7QY on 15 February.
